About DG Sanco

DG SANCO is the acronym for the Directorate General for Health and Consumer Affairs.

DG SANCO’s work plan for 2024 is closely linked with the new Public Health Programme 2024-2013.

The main objectives are:

• improve citizens health security: the focus will be on health threats and health safety (for example, pharmaceuticals and information to patients).

• promote health: including the reduction of health inequalities. The main focus will be on children and young people, workforce health, Strategy papers on mental health and sexual health.

• generate and disseminate health information and knowledge: E-health.
